Pinehall at Eisler Farms – Kylee + Michael

By | Pinehall Eisler Farms, weddings | No Comments

The words most spoken that day were “thank you” in every toast, every vow, every hug – they thanked God for each other, for the beautiful weather, for the chance to be together with family and friends, for life. Their wedding was so emotional. Tears of sorrow for loved ones dearly missed, and tears of joy for the power of love and celebration. I am so glad that fate brought this couple into my life because now we get to be friends for life. And I hope even in ordinary days in the future, happy times, or hard days when we miss people we love, that we always make time for champagne and confetti and fireworks and saying thank you.   Pinehall at Eisler Farms is one of my favorite rustic venues because everything is all in one place!  There’s space for both sides of the bridal party to get…

West Overton Village Wedding | Kevin + Jen

By | weddings, West Overton | No Comments

So much fun they did it TWICE ! After c*^!d downsized their plans last year, this summer it was time to be with family and friends again. And the theme for this day was JOY! Sometimes when it comes to happy things – more is more. Flower girls? They had 8. Pie instead of cake? How about an entire table full of pies. And 2 cookie tables, and an ice cream sundae station? When you got married in a pandemic, with less than 15 people, in masks – your postponed wedding day is all about FUN and celebration! They renewed their vows in front of everyone in a garden ceremony at West Overton Village and guests got to enjoy cocktail hour in the museum with all of the interactive exhibits. I love this historic distillery location for all of the different spaces on the grounds and the stories behind them….

Oak Lodge Wedding | Kristy + Drew

By | Oak Lodge, weddings | No Comments

THEY GOT MARRIED ON A WEDNESDAY! When they had to reschedule their Oak Lodge wedding due to c*v*d they took the next available date, which just happened to be a wednesday in the middle of the week! And everyone still came to celebrate! They were married at the one-of-a-kind log chapel venue at Oak Lodge in the Laurel Highlands. With cabins for all of you guests to stay, it’s the perfect place to make your wedding your own private retreat for the weekend! Two of my favorite people at the wedding (besides Kristy & Drew obviously), were Drew’s grandparents. They are in their 90s and came in from out of state to be a part of the weekend. Every time I saw Drew’s grandma she would say “isn’t this all just SO NICE?!” And I had to agree. They smiled and laughed and took lots of photos with the kids…

Cook Forest Maternity Session – Leeona & Jimi

By | Adventure Sessions, Maternity | One Comment

This couple is super close to my heart.  I’ve known them for years, even before they got engaged!  They are two of the most hard working, selfless, people I’ve ever met.  From their engagement photos sitting on a dock at sunset, to making silly faces with the kids on their wedding day, and all the hockey games, doggy play dates, and hilarious game night christmas parties in between – being their photographer and their friend is a big deal to me.  Their life together is just starting a new chapter, and I’m the one that gets to make the pictures to the stories they will tell their little boy one day.  Maybe when he is little, he will like to hear how Mama is really a fairy princess – but when he gets older, I want him to be able to look at these photos and see the LOVE.  The…

Armstrong Farms Winter Wedding | Kimberly + Jonathan

By | Armstrong Farms, weddings | No Comments

Armstrong Farms is one of my favorite rustic wedding venues!  I met Kimberly and Jonathan at Armstrong Farms’ bridal open house last fall and we hit it off right away!  This amazing couple was planning a wedding for March at Fieldstone barn and we had no idea if it was going to be spring with lots of flowers in bloom or a blizzard!  Weather in Pennsylvania can be unpredictable, but these two knew the only thing that was important was that all of their family and friends were together.  The morning of the wedding came, and it was forty degrees with strong wind gusts.  The girls all got ready at the farmhouse right on the property at Armstrong Farms, and the guys got ready at the Drake house. Kimberly’s dress was custom designed just for her with illusion mesh sleeves and lace applique. She carried a brooch bouquet down the…

Pumpkin patch engagement session – Cindy + Zack

By | Engagements | No Comments

I’ve waited two years to post these photos and the time has finally arrived !!  In October of 2015, we shot Cindy and Zack’s session at Shenot Farm in Wexford, PA.  Cindy and Zack have visited Shenot every year as a family tradition for the fall festival.  The farm has cornfields, a barn, an orchard, huge fields and holds a lot of sentimental memories for them.  It was the perfect place to capture their pumpkin patch engagement photos!  We had a gorgeous warm fall evening, and history repeated itself last night for their wedding at Lingrow Farm.   (I can’t wait to share photos from their big day in the future!)   We try to schedule most of our sessions starting two hours before sunset so we can take advantage of all of that fall golden hour light! This was my favorite part of the whole session!  This was the biggest…

Saint Vincent Basilica and Lingrow Farm Wedding | Annie + Dan

By | Lingrow Farm, weddings | No Comments

Happy Anniversary to an amazing couple!  Annie grew up in Latrobe, PA but it wasn’t until she moved across the pond to the UK that she met Dan one night at a bar in Southampton.  Not only was he handsome, he was intelligent, insightful, and made great conversation.  After a year and a half of dating and long car rides where Dan plays the DJ, (one of Annie’s favorite things about him), they decided they wanted to be together for all the years ahead.  For their wedding, Annie and Dan invited all their guests from the US and the UK to come to the Basilica at Saint Vincent College in Latrobe, Pennsylvania where Annie’s family has been celebrating weddings for generations.  Their reception was held at the beautiful Lingrow Farm which they chose for it’s unique rural American setting and peaceful location.   The morning started off at Annie’s mom’s…

Justine & Chris | fall engagement photos near Portage, PA

By | Engagements | No Comments

When you find the one, you just know.  I didn’t believe it till I met my own husband, but I can tell you that if you aren’t sure – then you haven’t met the one yet.  Justine and Chris met just a few years ago and the first thing she noticed about him was that he smiled all time.  A fortune cookie from one of their first dates of take out Chinese forecast the future. It read, “stop searching forever, happiness is right beside you.” For their fall engagement photos, Chris and Justine invited me to Chris’ family home near Portage, PA.  We explored acres of woods and fields, visited Wilmore Dam for photos by the water, and ended  at sunset on top of the hill underneath the tree where Chris proposed.  We even included the third member of their family, their golden retriever puppy, Camo.  From the tree…

Keely & Todd | fall engagement photos in a cornfield

By | Engagements | No Comments

Sometimes the road to love is long, even for the best people, and Keely and Todd are two of the best.  They are always willing to help out a friend and value family above all else.  Life threw a lot of curve balls their way before they met each other.  Happily ever after had to work hard to track them down, but it didn’t give up.  This saturday they will say their vows on top of the hill at Keely’s parent’s property in the very spot where her sister Afton was married a few years ago.  It’s the spot where Keely had imagined her wedding long before she and Todd even met, and that her family has enjoyed many thursday night campfires over the years. Last fall we took a rambling drive around all of the dirt roads near their home.  We visited the hill where they’ll be married, the…

Michele & David | engagement photos at Mingo Creek

By | Engagements | No Comments

Michele and David are getting married tomorrow!  Hurricane Joaquin is just going to have to wait because these two deserve a beautiful day together.  When I asked David to describe Michele in three words, he said that she is intelligent, compassionate, and beautiful.  We met up last fall for their engagement photos at Mingo Creek Park near Finleyville, PA.  Mingo Creek is known for its covered bridge festival and beautiful scenery, it was the perfect spot to enjoy a crisp fall evening together before David had to leave.  Being a member of the armed forces, David and Michele were living their love long-distance since he would be away from home for several months.  Now he’s home and their wedding day is here 🙂  Time to celebrate!       It took all three of us searching the ground to find the perfect acorn and three colored leaves for a photo…
