Serra Catholic High School Senior | Nora

By | Seniors | No Comments

I have watched this girl grow up! Nora is a Serra Catholic High School senior and the first time I met her was actually while I was taking her big sister’s senior photos and she tagged along to help! I’ll never forget that day – she was just knee high to a grasshopper but was so eager to hold my reflector and make her sister laugh for pictures! It’s a huge honor to get to do photos for multiple siblings in the same family and be trusted with all of those memories!  Since it was Nora’s turn this time, I picked out one of my favorite spots where the spring flowers in bloom.   The past few years have really made for a strange experience for high school students with shut downs, virtual school, canceling of all their milestones like prom, college visits, driver’s tests, sports, clubs, and time with…

Fall sunset engagement photos – Kelly & Ben

By | Engagements | No Comments

I can’t believe it’s finally here!!  Happy wedding week to Kelly and Ben!  They are getting hitched in just four days!  We had the perfect weather when we met up this past November for some fall sunset engagement photos.  I knew just where to go to find the best leaves! Things to know about this awesome power couple, Kelly is a dog mom to an adorable morkie named Harley, she has a great laugh that makes other people want to laugh too, she’s a girl boss, and she ain’t afraid to hustle to get the job done.  Ben is the perfect partner for her.  He is definitely the strong silent type and can make Kelly smile just by looking at her.  They love to get outside, go wine tasting, spend time with family and hit the gym together.  They are treating their wedding guests to all of their favorite foods…

Fall Mini Sessions ! | Northmoreland Park

By | Milestones | No Comments

It’s been six years, but this October I’m happy to announce fall mini sessions!   So what’s the difference between mini sessions and a regular session? Regular sessions are booked on the date and time and at the location of your choice, while mini sessions are at a single location and you choose from available time slots. Regular sessions are one to two hours in length, mini sessions are just 30 mins!  This means there will be just enough time to get some great shots, but no extra time for things like changing outfits, etc. Contact us to book your spot today!  If you’re already worried about how you’ll dress your family, check out this post on what to wear for family photos!

Laurel Highlands Engagement | Kristie + Chuck

By | Engagements | No Comments

When Kristie and Chuck told me their proposal story, it was clear there was a special place we needed to go for their engagement session.  Kristie has so many happy memories with her father from Deer Valley YMCA camp. They spent many weekends there for Daddy-daughter camp when Kristie was a little girl.  She and her father would go out on the lake, hike to the spring, and climb up the mountain to the big overlook.  Sadly, Kristie’s Dad passed away when she was fifteen and they weren’t able to continue making such beautiful memories.  Fast forward many years, Kristie had met a great guy named Chuck at Hofbrauhaus while she was out with some friends and they had been dating for over a year.  Chuck knew that he wanted to ask Kristie to marry him but he wouldn’t be able to ask her father for his blessing first, so…

Family photo session | the Ward family

By | Milestones | No Comments

Family stories are my favorite.  I first met Donna and Mike in 2008 and it has been an honor and a privilege to witness their story unfolding as they built a life together and started a family.  Now, eight years and two kids later we met up in May for a family photo session at Northmoreland Park to celebrate Cole and Cora’s birthdays!  The weather was perfect and we had fun playing outside till sunset! I love this photo of all of them together, technically it’s a one-off (which are always my favorite) from the perfect shot where everyone is looking at the camera smiling.  Cole can’t contain his laughter, Suki the dog is distracted by a duck in the distance, and everyone is happy.  This is real life, skinned knees and all, and it’s perfect.     Cole and his Daddy practicing their fighting moves. It took a while since…

Jessica & Elias | sunset engagement photos

By | Engagements | No Comments

October is here!  And there are some darn fine people getting married this month 🙂  This weekend we are kicking things off with a wedding double header as Jessica and Elias tie the knot on Friday.  A few months ago we met up at Northmoreland Park for some sunset engagement photos and they brought along their dog, Lexy. Fate totally brought these two together.  It was a super hot day on a work trip in 2008 and Elias had a few hours to kill – he and his boss asked a random stranger in a Wendy’s if there were any pools close by where they could cool off and got directions to a pool down the road that turned out to be for members only.  After explaining their situation to the owner, he let them in for the day and you guessed it – there was the woman he would…

Chris & Skyler – summer engagement photos

By | Engagements | No Comments

I feel like an old lady writing this – but quite a few years back, I shot Chris’ high school senior pictures.  In fact, I did senior pictures for Chris, his sister Kayla, and their brother Nick!  One of the greatest honors of my job is being a story teller for people’s families.  When people come back again and again at every milestone, I’m thrilled to be a silent part of their story.  This will be the second wedding I’ve had the privilege to document for the McClelland family.  (Kayla has a one year anniversary coming up! 🙂 Skyler had a crush on Chris since the 7th grade, but the first time they “officially” met wasn’t until 9th grade geometry class.  Chris noticed her doodling a set of balloons in her notebook and struck up a conversation.  They dated for two years in high school, but as life often does…

Mary & Chris | engagement photos in the rain

By | Engagements | No Comments

We are having one of the rainiest summers on record here in Pennsylvania (sorry California, we’d send the storm clouds your way if we could).  Mary and Chris proved that nothing was going to rain on their parade when their engagement session date rolled around after a solid week of rain and more showers in the forecast for that evening.  Mary came armed with the cutest pair of turquoise rain boots.  Clearly we had to find a puddle to jump in.  They were up for anything!         It was so wet out that water was bubbling straight up out of the ground at the base of a tree, it was a great spot for a shot of Mary’s engagement ring.           After the storm, we were rewarded with awesome colors as the sun set behind the hill.  A little off camera lighting from…

Stephanie & Jason | fall engagement session

By | Engagements | No Comments

Stephanie and Jason are getting married in just five days!!  Let’s flashback to last fall when we met up at Northmoreland park for their engagement photos under the fall leaves.  They brought along their dog, Molly  –  AND Stephanie’s sister, Sarah, who is an expert labrador wrangler!  There was an awful lot of laughing as I flopped around in the bushes squawking like a dying turkey to get Molly to look up at just the right moment.  (It’s my signature dog photography move.)    I know I look like a nut, but it always works!  We explored the fields, found a turkey feather ironically, Molly got a lot of treats and we ended the night down by the dock with lines of geese flying south for the winter. It’s already been an exciting year for these two.  They’ve changed jobs, bought their first house and now after a year of…
